Thiruvananthapuram, July 28: Kerala Police on Saturday arrested one individual from Wayanad on cyber bullying charge. The youth was nabbed for trolling and posting derogatory remarks against 21-year-old student Hanan Hamid.
Hanan, a BSC 3rd year student in Al Azhar Al Azhar College of Arts and Science at Thodupuzha, has been the target of social media trolls ever since she was offered a film role by movie maker Arun Gopy.
Hanan, earlier in the month, drew applause on social media after an image was shared of her selling fish at a makeshift stall in evening to meet her family's financial needs.

While speaking to reporters, Hanan said that while she dreams of pursuing MBBS, she has to sell fish every day post college hours as it is the only way for her to make ends meet. Hanan's only family member is her mother, who remains unwell.
Hanan, while initially gaining sympathy, came under the radar of trolls after filmmaker Arun Goyal offered her a role in his next movie. Social media users said she deliberately released her pictures in school uniform selling fish in a bid to gain cheap publicity ahead of her movie debut.
A disturbed Hanan has been appealing over the past couple of days to "be left alone". She denied the charge of planning a publicity stunt with Goyal to gain momentum for his next film.
