Kerala: Political Parties Stage Protest Urging State Government to Allow Siruvani Reservoir to Reach Maximum Level

Various political parties and organisations, including Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) party, staged protest urging Kerala government to allow the Siruvani Reservoir to reach its full capacity. Following the 2018 floods in the state, the Kerala government decided to reduce the maximum water level of the reservoir by five feet.

Kerala, September 11: Various political parties and organisations, including Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) party, staged protest urging Kerala government to allow the Siruvani Reservoir to reach its full capacity. According to an ANI report, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK), general secretary K Ramakrishnan alleged that the Kerala Government on purpose released water from the Siruvani Reservoir so that the water level did not touch the full reservoir level mark.
