Ernakulam, June 25: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy suffered grievous injuries when a TV fell on him late on Monday, June 24. The incident, which occurred in Muvattupuzha, Ernakulam, at around 9:30 pm, saw the child being rushed to a nearby hospital for medical aid; however, due to the severity of his injuries, he was then transferred to a private hospital in Kochi, where he succumbed to his injures during the early hours of Tuesday, June 25.
According to a report by Manorama, the tragic accident unfolded on Monday night when the toddler, identified as Abdul Samad, was playing at his home in Ernakulam's Muvattupuzha when the TV fell on him. The toddler son of Anas, a resident of Paipra, sustained severe injuries after the fall. Initially taken to a nearby private hospital by his parents in Muvattupuzha, the toddler was shifted to a specialised facility in Kochi for further medical attention. Despite efforts to save him, Abdul Samad succumbed to his injuries during treatment in the early hours of Tuesday. As per the report, the body of the toddler has been sent for a post-mortem examination post which, it will be handed over to his relatives. In a similar incident in Kochi, an eight-year-old Mohammad Irfan tragically lost his life in Aluva when a decayed tree and an electricity pole fell on him while he was playing with friends near his home in Purayur in April this year. Reportedly, Irfan was riding a bicycle when the tree collapsed, knocking over an adjacent electricity pole. The impact of the falling objects proved fatal for the young boy. Irfan was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was later moved to the mortuary following necessary procedures.
