Thiruvananthapuram, January 17: A journalist was heckled during a press conference held by former Kerala Director General of Police (DGP) TP Senkumar on Thursday. Kadavil Rasheed, a journalist of Kalapremi daily, was manhandled when he asked for TP Senkumar's response over Ramesh Chennithala's remark that appointment of the IPS officer during the tenure of the previous Congress-led UDF government was a "huge mistake". The video of the incident was shared by news agency ANI. Senkumar was speaking to media persons on alleged corruption in the admissions and postings in various institutions run by the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam and SN Trust. Rasheed stood up in the middle of the press conference and posed a question regarding Chennithala's statement. Subsequently, Senkumar's supporters heckled the journalist and push him out of the hall. "Are you a journalist? Are you drunk?" asked Senkumar even as other journalists present at the press conference intervened and came to the scribe's rescue. Reacting to the incident, the Kerala union of working journalists Trivandrum district committee demanded an apology from Senkumar. The outfit also sought registration of an FIR against those manhandled Rasheed.
