Malappuram, October 25: A 38-year-old worker of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was hacked to death in northern Kerala's Malappuram district on Thursday night. A case has been registered by Kerala police under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The deceased has been identified as Isahak. The incident took place at Anjudi in Tanur at 8.30 pm when there was a power cut in the town. CPI(M) Worker Hacked to Death in Kerala.

Police immediately reached the spot after getting the information. As per reports, Issak was rushed to Tirur Taluk Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Six men were reportedly involved in the murder. The IUML alleged that the accused have links with the ruling CPI (M). The ruling party denied the allegations. Responding to the allegations, the CPI(M) district secretary EN Mohandas told the media house, “This is an unfortunate incident, and the CPM has nothing to do with incident.” The party also promised to take strict action against if any of its member is found accused in this case. After the incident, large number of police personnel have been deployed in the area.
