Kerala Floods: Rahul Gandhi Writes Letter to Union Ministers, Seeks Help For Rehabilitation Work in Wayanad
Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi has written to Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Harsh Vardhan and Nitin Gadkari seeking help for flood rehabilitation works. He has asked help to rebuild Kerala, recovering from floods, as he prepares to visit his constituency in less than a month today.
New Delhi, August 27: Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi has written to Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Harsh Vardhan and Nitin Gadkari seeking help for flood rehabilitation works. He has asked help to rebuild Kerala, recovering from floods, as he prepares to visit his constituency in less than a month on Tuesday. More than 125 people were killed and 16,000 houses were damaged in Kerala this month due to the floods that devastated the southern state for the second year in a row. Gandhi asked for expansion of the scope of works under the MGNREGA in Kerala and hike in minimum guaranteed days of employment from 100 to 200 days.

Gandhi further wrote to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari asking for funds to repair, maintain and rebuild roads damaged by floodwaters. In another letter to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Gandhi requested for new relief camps to be set up in Wayanad.
