Srinagar, November 18: Security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir have arrested a woman who allegedly used social networking site Facebook for luring youths for Jihad and terror activities, officials said on Sunday. The woman was identified as Shazia from Naidkhai in the Sumbal area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir. She has two children.
Security agencies have been keeping a close eye on Shazia's activities, including online ones. "It seems that she was being used by terror groups to extract information from police and other security agencies and pass it on to the terrorists," an officer told the news agency. The officer added that during interrogation she had not been forthcoming other than dropping names of some terrorist commanders. Shazia's arrest comes a week after police arrested 28-year-old Aysia Jan for carrying 20 grenades at Lawaypora on the city outskirts following inputs about terrorists trying to smuggle arms and ammunition into the city.
The police also recovered grenades and ammunition from her possession. Her two brother were detained in connection with the case.
