New Delhi, August 28: Former Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that the violence in Jammu and Kashmir is instigated and supported by Pakistan. He also termed Pakistan as the prime supporter of terrorism around the world. "There is violence in Jammu & Kashmir. There is violence because it is instigated and supported by Pakistan which is known to be the prime supporter of terrorism across the world," Gandhi tweeted. The Gandhi scion also made it clear that Kashmir is India's internal issue and there is no need for Pakistan or any other country to interfere in it. "I disagree with this Govt. on many issues. But, let me make this absolutely clear: Kashmir is India’s internal issue & there is no room for Pakistan or any other foreign country to interfere in it," he said. This comes after Pakistan in an attempt to internationalise the Jammu and Kashmir issue wrote to the United Nations. It claimed human rights violations in the valley.
Pakistan's Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari, in a letter to the UN, cried foul over the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. She also mentioned Rahul Gandhi claiming that "people are dying" in the valley.
"Acts of violence have been acknowledged by mainstream politicians, such as the leader of the Congress party, Mr Rahul Gandhi who has noted people dying in Jammu and Kashmir, in light of events going very wrong there," the letter read.
