Kartarpur Corridor: Navjot Singh Sidhu Heaps Praises on Imran Khan; Calls Pakistan PM 'Angel'

Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu sparked another controversy by calling Pakistan Prime Minister an “Angel”. Referring to the Pakistan PM, Sidhu during his media interaction at Dera Baba Nanak said that, Angel across the border had shown us the political will to establish peace in the region.

Gurdaspur, November 26: Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu sparked another controversy by calling Pakistan Prime Minister an “Angel”. Referring to the Pakistan PM, Sidhu during his media interaction at Dera Baba Nanak said that, Angel across the border had shown us the political will to establish peace in the region. Sidhu has accepted an invitation of Khan to attend the opening ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor by the Pakistan Government, which is scheduled for November 28. However, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh refused to comment on his minister's views.

Captain Singh today also hit out at Pakistan Army chief general Qamar Javed Bajwa. While speaking at the opening ceremony of the corridor by the Indian government, the Punjab CM said, "Which Army teaches to violate ceasefire and kill jawans on the other side? Which Army teaches to send people to attack Pathankot and Amritsar? This is cowardness." Earlier in the day, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu laid the foundation stone of Kartarpur corridor in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. Recently, both India and Pakistan agreed to build the corridor linking Indian town of Dera Baba Nanak to a historical Gurudwara in Pakistan's Kartarpur where Guru Nanak Dev spent the last 18 years of his life. Kartarpur Sahib is around six kilometres from the Indian town of Dera Baba Nanak
