New Delhi, January 22: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that the Indian Portion of Kartarpur Corridor will be completed soon even before Pakistan does. The Union Minister said that he has also reviewed the progress of the project. He further added that he has the full support of Punjab government and no complaints with anyone. The proposed Kartarpur Corridor is between India and Pakistan, connecting the Sikh shrines of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur and Dera Baba Nanak Sahib. While speaking to news agency ANI, Rajnath Singh said, "Kartarpur Corridor’s part that lies in India will be completed soon, I reviewed the progress of the project today. I have everybody’s support; I have Punjab government’s support, have no complaints with anyone. We will try to complete it before Pakistan does it." Earlier, on January 15, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had written to Rajnath Singh seeking passport waivers for devotees who will be visiting Sri Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara during 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev. "The condition of mandatory passport for devotees seeking to cross the Kartarpur Corridor should be waived off to facilitate them to visit the historic gurdwara located in Pakistani territory," CM Singh wrote to union minister.
