Gurdaspur, November 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor on Saturday on the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. After inaugurating the corridor, PM Modi will flag off the first batch of over 500 Indian pilgrims that will visit Darbar Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan’s Narowal district. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate passenger terminal building,  known as Integrated Check Post. At this check post, pilgrims will get clearance to travel through the corridor. A 300 feet National Monumental Flag is also being hoisted at the International Border. A total length of the corridor will be around six km, out of which 4.2 km will be in the Indian Territory. Pakistani PM Imran Khan will also inaugurate the corridor in Pakistan on Saturday. The corridor will connect the Indian town of Dera Baba Nanak with Kartarpur in Pakistan’s Narowal district. India and Pakistan signed the agreement for the opening of the corridor on October 24 this year. According to the agreement, around 5,000 Indian pilgrims will be allowed to visit Gurudwara Darbar Sahib. This year, Guru Nanak Jayanti will be celebrated on November 12.
