'Kart4All' Scam: Delhi Police Bust Online Shopping Fraud Racket, Arrest Two For Cyber Crime

The police arrested two men for cheating over 500 people of Rs 75-80 lakhs, through their fake shopping portal “Kart4All”. According to reports, the two accused had set up a call-centre in their house located in Tughlakabad Extension to run the online racket. The accused who have been identified as Lalit Prasad, the owner of the portal along with his manager, Pradeep Kumar ran the fake shopping portal to lure people. They used to call people and offered them prizes for shopping on their portal. Both the accused are 25 years old. Cyber Crime! The police took action after one of the victims filed a complaint. The victim alleged that he had been cheated by a group of persons on the pretext of providing free gifts as a promotional offer for their online shopping portal called www.kart4all.com.
According to a PTI report, about eight years ago, Prasad started working as a tele-caller in a Delhi-based call centre from where he came to know how to run a call-centre. Police are investing the matter to identify the involvement of others in the scam.
