Bengaluru, September 18: On September 16, authorities conducted a raid in Tumakuru district of Karnataka and rescued three menstrual women from a room outside the village after receiving a tip. Officials claim that three Golla women on menstruation were released during a raid by Gubbi taluk tehsildar B Arathi on Chikanettagunte region.

She told the Hindustan Times that the practice is uncommon in many of these communities with educated women. However, this custom is still used in a few colonies. To stop this practice, we will act firmly. To end this, she said, we constantly host meetings and awareness campaigns.

Sujatha, a midday meal cook, Savitramma, and another lady, according to the police, were placed in a segregated chamber outside the village by the community while they were menstruating. In several places where the Kadu Golla group is predominant, it is a regular practice.
