Kalaburagi, September 30: In a chilling act of domestic violence, a 42-year-old woman, Nagamma, was brutally murdered by her husband, identified as Shekhar, at their home in Sedam taluk's Batagera village, Kalaburagi. The incident unfolded following a heated argument that erupted after Nagamma refused to have sex with Shekhar. In a fit of rage, Shekhar first strangled her with a rope and then, in a horrific escalation, attacked her with an axe, striking her neck and causing fatal injuries. After committing the crime, Shekhar turned himself into the Sedam police, confessing to the brutal act.

According to report from the Times of India, the couple had been experiencing significant marital discord, which had led to frequent arguments and even prompted Nagamma to stay with her parents for nearly a month. Despite her return home, tensions continued to escalate, and on the night of the incident, the argument centred around Shekhar's demands for sexual relations, which Nagamma refused. This refusal reportedly triggered Shekhar’s violent outburst. Karnataka Shocker: Impotent Man Strangles Wife to Death Over Her Refusal To Sleep With Other Men, Fakes Heart Attack To Cover Up Crime in Yadgir; Arrested.
