A man in Kolar, Karnataka,killed his wife with a sickle and then himself just hours after their wedding. The incident followed a heated argument, and both were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Bengaluru, August 9: A man in Karnataka's Kolar district allegedly killed his wife with a sickle just hours after their wedding before taking his own life. The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 7, following their marriage. The couple reportedly got into an argument, which led to the incident. When rushed to the hospital, his wife, Latika, was declared dead on arrival, while he died after treatment.
The couple, residents of nearby villages in the Kolar district, were married on Wednesday, August 7. According to a report by India Today, after their wedding, they spent time with friends before heading to relatives' homes for tea, where the tragic incident unfolded. Inside a room, the couple had a heated argument that escalated into violence. Naveen allegedly attacked Likita with a sickle-like object, killing her before using the same weapon to take his own life. When relatives forced open the door, they discovered the couple lying in a pool of blood, according to the police. After the incident, both of them were rushed to the hospital. Likita was pronounced dead on arrival, while Naveen, critically injured, was transferred to another facility for treatment. Unfortunately, he did not survive and succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.
The police were informed of the incident on Wednesday evening and registered a case. Both bodies were sent for autopsies, and the investigation is ongoing.
