Bengaluru, October 13: A 45-year-old man, a resident of Bidaluru village near Bengaluru, Karnataka, was arrested on Thursday, October 12, for allegedly killing his 20-year-old daughter, Kavana, following a dispute over her relationship with a boy from another caste. According to multiple reports, the accused, identified as Manjunath, attacked Kavana in her sleep, slashing her throat with a knife following a heated argument. Manjunath had reportedly opposed Kavana's relationship, leading to conflict within the family.
The police revealed that Kavana's refusal to end her relationship with the boy and her younger sister's similar romantic involvement aggravated the situation, leading to an intense family confrontation. Manjunath, who belonged to the Scheduled Tribe Naik community and worked at a chicken shop, was purportedly upset by gossip in the village regarding his family's affairs, which seemingly contributed to his extreme actions.
