Karnataka, February 3: Police arrested a 44-year-old man on Tuesday for allegedly posing as a Central Crime Branch (CCB) constable and cheating a man of Rs 17,000 by selling him a ‘seized’ scooter.
As per the report published by the Times of India, the accused has been identified as Lourd Nathan, a security guard with a private agency. The accused told the victim that he is a police constable and that a huge backlog of seized vehicles lying in police stations is up for sale. He promised the complainant that he would give him a scooter for a cheaper rate and asked for Rs 17,000. The victim paid the money but never received the scooter. After realizing that he has been cheated, the man approached the police and registered a complaint. Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused on Tuesday. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
