Bengaluru, December 22: Sahitya Akademi award winner G Nanjundan was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru on Saturday. Police found Nanjundan’s body in a decomposed state. According to reports, Nanjundan lived alone at his residence in Nagadevanahalli near Kengeri and had not turned up for classes at Bangalore University for four days. He worked as a professor in the department of statistics. His family lives in Chennai. He is survived by his wife and a son. Nanjundan’s assistant went to his residence on Saturday to meet. As nobody opened the door, he alerted Nanjundan's family. After, the Sahitya Akademi award winner’s family members did not get any response, they informed the police.
After getting the information, the police reached the spot and broke open the door. According to the Deccan Herald’s report, cardiac arrest could be the reason for his death. G Nanjundan had over 32 years of teaching experience. He is also known for translating several Kannada books into Tamil.
