In a tragic incident in Kalaburagi, a man killed his mother following an argument after she returned from a five-day trip. He blamed her absence for not preparing his meals.
Bengaluru, October 21: In a shocking incident in Rajolla village, located in the Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district, a man reportedly murdered his mother after she returned home from a brief trip. The victim, 72-year-old Devakamma Doddabirappa Pujari, was found dead on October 19. Her son, 34-year-old Jatteppa Doddabirappa Pujari, has been arrested by authorities in connection with the crime.
According to a report by Times Of India, For the past year, Jatteppa Doddabirappa Pujari's wife has been residing at her parent's home with their two children due to the daily abuse she suffered at his hands when he returned home under the influence of alcohol. In her absence, Jatteppa lived with his mother, Devakamma Doddabirappa Pujari, who took on the role of caretaker, preparing meals for him. Doddabirappa Pujari had travelled to Lakshmipurwadi village five days prior to the incident. She returned to Rajolla village on Saturday morning, only to find herself embroiled in a heated argument with her son, Jatteppa. During the confrontation, Jatteppa expressed his frustration over her absence, claiming that her departure left him without anyone to prepare meals for him. This dispute escalated, revealing underlying tensions in their relationship that ultimately led to the tragic outcome, Chittapur Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankaragouda Patil reported. During the argument, Jatteppa brutally attacked his mother with a stick. In a desperate attempt to escape, Devakamma fled from the house, but he pursued her and continued to strike her, ultimately leading to her death, as reported by Patil. Following the incident, Jatteppa was taken into custody and remanded to judicial detention on Sunday, October 20.
