A crocodile was spotted on the roof of a house in flood-affected Raybag taluk in Belgaum. A similar situation was seen in Vadodara a few days back when several such reptiles were spotted after the floodwater started receding.
Bengaluru, August 12: Heavy rains have caused havoc in several parts of the country, particularly in Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Assam and Odisha, which have resulted in floods. Several crocodiles were also spotted in Vadodara, following flash floods in Gujarat a few days back. The Vadodara forest department rescued crocodiles from residential areas after the water receded in areas around the city. The department claimed that the number of calls pertaining to the spotting of the reptile in residential areas has also increased.

The death toll in Kerala has shot to 76 on Monday. According to Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), as many as 58 have been reported missing while 32 people have been injured due to flood-related incident across the state till August 11. In Malappuram district alone, 23 people have died followed by Kozhikode with 17 death and Wayanad with 12, the KSDMA data stated.
