Bengaluru, July 14: The Karnataka police recently solved a kidnapping case and rescued an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly sold by her aunt. The victim, a resident of Tumakuru, was reportedly sold to an agriculturalist from Andhra Pradesh for INR 35,000 by her debt-ridden aunt. Police officials said that the man who bought the minor girl had employed the accused woman to look after his ducks.
The incident came to light after the minor girl's mother lodged a complaint, and the district labour department intervened, reports the Times of India. Following this, the police swung into action to solve the case. Police officials learned that the victim's aunt took INR 35,000 as a loan from the employer; however, she failed to repay it.
