Bengaluru, December 28: The Karnataka Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) teams on Friday conducted raids at 17 locations across the state corresponding to five government officials. According to a tweet by ANI, the searches are on at several places including Bengaluru, Chintamani, Mysuru, Hunsur, Udupi, Davanagere, Chikkamagaluru, Mangaluru and Karwar.

The ACB had conducted several raids across the state for several months now. In October, the ACB had conducted raids at six locations of two senior government officials in Karnataka. According to reports, the raids were conducted in Belagavi and Bagalkot in connection with disproportionate assets cases. A report by India Today informs that ACB raided three properties of Patil in Belagavi and three properties of Minchinal in Bagalkot. The two officials whose properties were raided are Chandragouda B Patil, Assistant Conservator of Forests, and Chidanand B Minchinal, an Assistant Executive Engineer in the Drinking Water Department. NIA Raids 16 Locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh After ISIS Terror Module Tip-Off, Five Suspects Arrested. 

According to reports, the Bengaluru city ACB unit is putting in efforts to become people friendly and has started a helpline where citizens can lodge their complaints against erring officials. A report by News 18 informs that the number has already received nearly 500 calls and over 50 e-mails with details of various assets of different officials.
