On the 20 year anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, which is being celebrated today, President Ram Nath Kovind has tweeted saluting the valour and the grit of the war martyrs who defended India on this Day in 1999. The theme for this year's anniversary celebration of the 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' is - 'Remember, Rejoice and Renew'.
New Delhi, July 26: On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, which is celebrated every year on this day, President Ram Nath Kovind has tweeted saluting the valour and the grit of the war martyrs who defended India on this Day in 1999. To quote his tweet, the President said, "On Kargil Vijay Diwas, a grateful nation acknowledges the gallantry of our Armed Forces on the heights of Kargil in 1999. We salute the grit and valour of those who defended India and record our everlasting debt to those who never returned."

Today, we are also celebrating the 20th anniversary of India's win in the 1999 Kargil War conflict. Reportedly, President Kovind will join the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations today in Drass town of Kargil.
The theme for the 20th anniversary of the 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' is - 'Remember, Rejoice and Renew'. To make this occasion big, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had written to chief ministers of all states urging them to participate in the celebrations of 20 years of the Kargil War victory by organising events alongside those planned by the Centre.
