The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut has riled up controversy after her recent remarks against the farmer's protests. In an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Ranaut made serious allegations, claiming that there was “riotous violence” during the farmers’ protests. She stated, “There were rapes and murders as well. The central government withdrew the agricultural bills, otherwise these people had a long-term plan. They could have done anything in the country.” The Congress has targeted the Mandi MP for calling farmers "murderers" and "rapist." Ranaut further asserted that if the government’s leadership had not been strong, “Punjab would have become Bangladesh.” She praised her government, saying, “What was happening in the name of the farmers’ movement is not hidden from the country. During the movement, people were being killed and their bodies were being hanged. As soon as the government withdrew the Agriculture Bill, all these rioters were shocked.” In response, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate countered Ranaut by asking "If the Modi government feels that foreign powers are interfering in the internal affairs of our country, then what steps are being taken regarding this?" ‘Emergency’: Akal Takht Demands Ban on Kangana Ranaut’s Film for ‘Character Assassinating’ Sikhs.
