Kandahar Bound Flight FG-312 Delayed After Ariana Afghan Airlines Pilot Mistakenly Presses Hijack Button at Delhi International Airport

According to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sources, the flight was delayed after the pilot of Ariana Afghan Airlines pilot between Delhi and Kandahar mistakenly pressed the hijack button at Delhi International Airport.

New Delhi, November 10: A Kandahar bound flight FG-312 was delayed by over two hours on Saturday afternoon after a hijack scare was triggered at Delhi airport today. According to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sources, the flight was delayed after the pilot of Ariana Afghan Airlines pilot between Delhi and Kandahar (Kandahar, the second-largest city in Afghanistan) mistakenly pressed the hijack button at Delhi International Airport.

The flight was scheduled to depart from Delhi Airport at around 3:45 pm on Saturday but due to the intervention of aviation security at the airport, the flight was halted. According to reports, the NSG commandos and other officials swiftly responded to the situation and surrounded the aircraft. Reports inform that after security clearance by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the aircraft took off for Kandahar after a two-hour delay. Sources in the security establishment at Delhi airport said that the Ariana Afghan Airlines (DEL-KDH) whilst taxying for take off returned to Isolation bay after the crew pressed the hijack button. After the basic checking, the flight finally departed at 15:30 on Saturday.
