Kamlesh Tiwari Murder Case: Uttar Pradesh Police Book Two Muslim Clerics For Hindu Mahasabha Leader's Murder After Wife Lodges Complaint

Lucknow, October 18: The Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow Police on Friday registered an FIR against two Muslim clerics from Bijnor -- Mohammad Mufti Naeem and Anwarul Haq -- in the murder of right-wing leader Kamlesh Tiwari. The police registered the case based on the complaint of the deceased wife. Reports state the Tiwari was killed for making allegedly for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad a few years ago. According to the initial details, reported by news agency ANI, Tiwari's wife had accused the two Muslim clerics who had allegedly announced a bounty on Tiwari's head as a few years ago, as Kamlesh made alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad. Tiwari's wife had further alleged that Kamlesh's murder was part of the conspiracy as was the leader of little-known Hindu Samaj Party and a renowned face of Hindu Mahasabha. The police have registered under Section 302 (punishment for murder) and 120-B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code against the Maulanas.

Earlier in the day, the Hindu Mahasabha leader Kamlesh Tiwari was shot dead by unidentified attackers in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow. He was immediately rushed to the Trauma centre, where he later died. According to reports, during the time of the incident, he was at his office. It is to be known that Tiwari was booked under the National Security Act for making provocative remarks against Prophet Mohammad in 2015.
