Lucknow, October 19: Satyam Tiwari, the son of killed Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari, demanded the government on Saturday to hand over the murder case probe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The bereaved son said his family cannot believe in anyone as his father was murdered despite being assigned security by the state government. Yogi Adityanath on Kamlesh Tiwari Murder: 'Attempt to Spread Terror, SIT Will Crackdown on All Culprits'.

Tiwari, 43, was killed at his residence based in Lucknow's Naka Hindola neighbourhood on Friday afternoon. The two killers, whose identities are yet to be ascertained, slit his throat before firing multiple shots at him. The accused managed to flee from the spot as the guards were reportedly sent to bring snacks.

The family of Tiwari has raised questioned over his assassination, with the deceased's mother claiming that a BJP leader - Shiv Kumar Gupta - had threatened hm with dire consequences over a dispute related to the construction near a temple.

Satyam has resonated the doubt, asking how could his father be murdered in broad daylight while security personnel were assigned to protect him. "We want the National Investigation Agency to probe the case. We do not trust anyone. My father was killed although he had security guards. How can we possibly trust the administration then?"

"I don't know if the men arrested murdered my father or if someone else did and innocent people are being framed. If these are the actual culprits and the police have video evidence, the NIA should take over the probe. If they probe and this (the arrests) is proved, we will be satisfied. We do not have belief in this administration," Satyam told news agency ANI.

Uttar Pradesh DGP O P Singh addressed the media earlier today, claiming that the case has been solved. A total of five suspects have been arrested -- Maulana Mohsin Sheikh (24), Rasheed Ahmed Pathan (23) and Faizan (21), along with Mufti Naeem Kazmi and Imam Maulana Anwarul. The killers, however, are yet to be nabbed. Prima facie, the murder seems to be an act of retribution for the blasphemous remarks made by Tiwari against the Prophet of Islam in 2015.
