Kalyan, November 29: In a tragic incident, a fireman, who was to retire in the next seven months, was killed in a cylinder blast in Mumbai’s Kalyan area on Thursday. According to reports, the 57-year-old fireman died after the cylinder exploded at a shop in Kalyan. One other fire fighter was severely injured in the incident. According to a report by TOI, the blaze was reported at around 1.15 am. Locals alerted the fire department after smoke engulfed the closed Chinese shop at Golden park area in Kalyan. The report informs that when the fire officials reached at spot and opened the shop to douse the fire, an explosion took place. The blast killed fireman Jagan Amble (57) on the spot while another fireman Sandeep Parve (35) suffered serious burn injuries, the report added. The deceased firefighter was going to retire from service in seven months. Amble was known for his dedication and good work in his department. Earlier this month, a fire official lost his life during rescue operation. During the last week, a massive fire was reported from Aadharwadi dumping ground in Kalyan. No casualties were reported. According to reports, the fire was brought under control after an hour. Residents complained that the smoke led to a drop-in visibility and breathing problems in that area. As per details by Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC), the blaze took place around 3.30 pm and later spread rapidly.
