Kalyan, August 14: A 13-year-old boy allegedly hanged himself at his home in Kalyan on Sunday. A note purportedly written by him claimed that a teacher and a fellow student from his school had bullied him into suicide. The note accused them of teasing him, leading to his tragic decision. The school has since dismissed the teacher involved.

The deceased, identified as Vignesh Patra, was a class 8 student alone at home while his parents and sister were out. When his father returned around 7 p.m. and received no response after knocking, he looked through a window and saw the boy hanging. The father and neighbours forced open the door and called the police. The boy was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The police initially classified the case as an accidental death. A senior officer stated that the note lacked specifics about the alleged harassment. Authorities plan to interview the boy's parents, classmates, and teachers to gather information on the "harassment" Vignesh claimed he was experiencing before deciding on further action.
