Kallada Travels Driver Booked For Molesting Tamil Nadu Woman, DYFI Stages Protest

In a yet another time Kallada Travels, owned by Suresh Kallada, has made headlines for the wrong reasons. A driver of the tours and travels was arrested in Kerala for allegedly molesting a passenger during her trip on Thursday morning.

Thenhipalam, June 20: In a yet another incident Kallada Travels, owned by Suresh Kallada, has made headlines for the wrong reasons. A driver of the tours and travels was arrested in Kerala for allegedly molesting a passenger during her journey on Thursday morning. A police official of Thenhipalam police station said that the booked driver is identified as Johnson Joseph. Kallada Travels Bus Abandons Woman at Night, Makes Her Run on Highway in Tirunelveli.

According to police, the reserve driver was arrested after a female passenger travelling from Kannur to Kollam accused him of molestation during the journey. The complaint was registered under IPC section 354 and the bus was impounded shortly, reported The Indian Express.

Reacting to the incident, state Transport Minister AK Saseendran said that the accused's license would be suspended and strict action will be taken against him. The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), a Left-aligned youth wing, protested outside the Kallada bus office in Thiruvananthapuram.

In April, several Kallada Travels employees were booked by police for brutally beating two passengers who questioned about the delay in their journey. Following the incident, Kallada Suresh was summoned by Kerala's Human Rights Commission.
