Jodhpur, August 27: Police officials were informed that a 15-year-old minor girl was allegedly gang-raped on August 25 by two men inside the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur. The victim left her on Sunday night home after being scolded by her home, told Pratap Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar. A probe has started following the minor’s medical exam. On Tuesday morning, a forensic team gathered evidence from the hospital crime scene, and teams are now working to catch the identified suspects.
The assault that happened on Sunday night was informed to the police on Monday evening. Two men approached the girl when they found her alone at the hospital. They struck up a conversation and then took her to a secluded spot behind the hospital’s biomedical waste dump, where they were accused of committing the crime, as reported by Hindustan Times. The victim was found by the police on Monday evening near the hospital when she shared the details of the assault with both her parents and the police. Following this, a probe has been initiated where the girl is being medically examined. Further, an investigation began following the minor's medical examination. A forensic team gathered evidence from the hospital crime scene on Tuesday morning, and teams are now working to track down the suspects, whose identities have been tentatively identified. Dr. Fatahsingh Bhati, the hospital superintendent, mentioned that although the police have not revealed the suspects' identities, internal investigations have shown that one of the alleged perpetrators had been a contract employee at the hospital. Dr. Bhati added, "The hospital staff has been directed to check the lighting around the area where the incident took place, and security measures, including additional lights, are being enhanced."
