New Delhi, January 6: After the unprecedented violence in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus on Sunday, angry students blocked a flag march conducted by the Delhi Police and raised 'Delhi police, go back' slogans. The Police had conducted a flag march inside the campus late at night on Sunday to ensure there are no members of the mob inside. Angry students raised slogans against the police and asked them to leave the campus. Reports inform that the flag march was led by Special Commissioner of Police - Law and Order, RS Krishnaiah.

According to a tweet by ANI, the Delhi Police said that they have received multiple complaints in connection with the violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday and will soon register FIR. Delhi Police PRO, MS Randhawa held meeting with students and teachers of JNU at the Police Headquarters at ITO. On Sunday, at least 28 people, including JNU Students' Union president Aishe Ghosh. JNUSU General Secretary Satish Chandra was also injured in the attack. Several masked individuals thrashed students, including girls, and teachers inside the campus with wooden and metal rods, injuring many. Reports inform that hostel rooms, and lobbies, and vehicles standing on the road were vandalised during the assault.

The violence in the JNU campus was condemned by leaders across the political spectrum. Union Home Minister Amit Shah ordered the Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik to take all necessary action to control the situation in the campus. He also ordered an inquiry.
