J&K Panchayat Elections 2018: Hizbul Mujahideen Threatens to Pour Acid Into Eyes of Poll Candidates in an Audio Clip
An audio clip of conservation between the Hizbul Mujahideen militants has been caught up in the tape.
Srinagar, November 20: An audio clip of a conversation between the Hizbul Mujahideen militants has been caught up in the tape. In the audio clip, a commander tells his cadres to pour acid into the eyes of people who are contesting the panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir, reported India Today. In the audio clip, Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo tells another militant of the outfit, Abbas, that they shouldn't kill anyone contesting the polls but they should pour acid into their eyes and cut their limbs. In the clip, Abbas is heard saying what punishment we should give to the people of who have filed nominations for the elections. In his response, Riyaz is heard saying people who are contesting the polls are betraying Kashmir.
"We have been forgiving them for 30 years. We have warned them for years. Do one thing. Do not kill them, but instead pour acid in their eyes and make them blind. The phase two of the Panchayat election in J&K was held on November 20 at 2,179 polling stations. Voting for phase three will take place on 24th November. Earlier a similar warning went viral in social media on January after the state government announced that panchayat polls will be held on February.
