Jammu, December 31: In a shocking incident, a man in Jammu and Kashmir raped his daughter earlier this week and later threatened her to face consequences if she revealed it to anyone. Reports inform that the incident took place in Jammu’s Reasi district on the intervening night of December 21 and 22. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the accused, who was absconding after raping his daughter, was arrested on Sunday. A case has been registered under Section 376 of the Ranbir Penal Code. The brutal incident came to light when the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother and grandmother after she was unable to bear the trauma. The report states that the medical examination of the victim is to be conducted. The SSP further added saying that on December 21, while they were on their way back home from Budhal to Thakrakot, the father took his daughter to an old man’s house where he raped her. According to details by the SSP, the man had attempted to rape his daughter on several occasions in the past, but the girl was afraid to reveal about it to anyone.
