Mumbai, December 4: The JioSaavn app is now finally available for music lovers and was announced by Reliance Jio on Tuesday. The music app is a result of Reliance Industries acquisition of Saavn, the music app it bought in March 2018. Interestingly, all existing Jio users will have 90 days free of cost access to the premium JioSaavn Pro subscription. The consumers will have the option to continue or cancel the subscription after 90 days. ‘JioSaavn’, a Merged Entity of JioMusic and Saavn, Will Be South Asia’s Largest Platform for Streaming, Entertainment, Music and Artists.
Akash Ambani, Director, Reliance Jio, said in a statement: "JioSaavn represents a turning point for the music streaming industry in India, as the country continues to experience accelerated tech innovation, rapid adoption of digital services, and a digital music industry at par with global leaders. Powered by Jio's advanced digital services infrastructure and complemented by its widespread user base, JioSaavn will be the largest streaming platform in India."
Saavn was co-founded by Rishi Malhotra, Paramdeep Singh and Vinodh Bhat. All the three will continue their association with the music app.
Malhotra, Co-Founder and CEO, JioSaavn, said in his statement that "Since announcing our merger in March 2018, the Jio and Saavn teams have been working to integrate and reimagine a combined platform in JioSaavn.
