Ranchi, September 3: A shocking incident of double murder surfaced from Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi on Monday after police recovered bodies of a 26-year-old woman and her five-year-old daughter from soak pit tank of a house. The woman was living a tenant in the house in Argora area of the city with her live-in partner Samim, who also a prime suspect in the case. The woman was indentified as Rekha Tigga. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, an FIR has been registered against Samim under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). As per a preliminary investigation conducted by police, the woman and her daughter were likely to be murdered between August 21 and August 22. Samim was last seen in the area on August 21. The woman was a daily wage earner. Samim, who is a mason by profession, lived in the same house with Rekha and her daughter since April 28. The owner of the house said that Samim informed him that Rekha and her daughter left for their village permanently. Two days later he also vacated the house. “When I came here on Monday to clean the premises, I encountered a foul smell emanating from the house. The woman hailed from Hurhuri in Ranchi’s Ratu block. After getting the information police reached the spot and recovered bodies of Rekha and her daughter Priyanshi Tigga from soak pit. The accused had thrown the bodies in the pit and covered its opening with the cemented slab. Police have launched a manhunt operation to nab the accused.
