The victim, identified as Punno Sao, half-burnt body was recovered from bushes near Ichak village on Wednesday, reported Hindustan Times. Some villagers sighted Sao's body and informed it to police, who later took him to a government hospital, where, he succumbed to his injuries. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the accused, Ravindra Prasad Mehta, was reportedly in a relationship with the victim's wife Saraswati Devi. Initially, police thought that Sao was killed over his wife pending wages. Sao in his statement said that Mehta, along with three colleagues, set him on fire after tying him with ropes. Sao and his wife were daily wage workers. Devi was working in Mehta's stone crushing unit for several years. On Sunday, Mehta had come to the victim's house and asked Devi to come to the factory. This angered Sao, and he had a heated argument with Mehta. Trainee IPS officer Rajiv Ranjan said that investigations are conducted from all possible perspectives. Raids are also being conducted to arrest the accused.
