Ranchi, August 27: In another incident of sexual assault, two men were sent to judicial custody on Sunday in connection with the gang-rape of a 25-year-old woman in Ranchi on the night of August 24. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the woman has alleged that she was gangraped by four of her friends in an apartment complex in Hinoo area under Doranda police station.

The police have arrested the two accused who are identified as 30-year-old Vikram and 31-year-old Sonu and are residents of Hinoo. According to the report, Vikram is enrolled in a private commercial pilot training college in Patna, while Sonu is involved in a small business. The victim along with a female friend went to Vikram’s flat at Ganpati Apartments in Hinoo for a party.

The woman in his complaint alleged that the four men kept giving her soft drinks mixed with alcohol and her female friend left as it was getting late. In her complaint, she also said that she lost her consciousness and the four accused took advantage of the situation and raped her. She also said that the accused even beat her when she protested. She filed a complaint in Doranda police station on Saturday.

According to the report, the two other accused 38-year-old Sushil Kachap and 39-year-old Subhash Munda are still absconding. Manhunt operation has been launched to nab the accused. The case was registered under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim has been sent for the medical examination. The two accused were sent to Birsa Munda Jail in Hotwar.
