New Delhi, April 28: With a senior technician of Jet Airways allegedly committed suicide in Maharashtra's Palghar district due to depression, the National Aviators Guild (NAG) - representing pilots of the grounded debt-ridden carrier Jet Airways - requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday to direct the airline’s lender State Bank of India to release one month’s salary of all the employees.

The NAG in their e-mail also sought PM Modi's directive to 'stop de-registration' of the airline’s aircraft, which are now being leased by other domestic carriers. The e-mail stated, written by NAG president Karan Chopra, "We urge you to direct SBI to release a month’s salary to all employees on an urgent and humane basis. We don’t want to see a repeat of the human tragedy which unfolded post the Kingfisher Airlines demise." Jet Airways Crisis: CEO Vinay Dube Writes Emotional Letter to Employees, Says 'No Clarity or Commitment on Salaries by Any of Our Stakeholders'.

Along with this, Chopra's mail also sought to expedite the binding bid date for the Jet Airways stake to 'preserve' enterprise value of the airline. The guild's even urged the Union government to ascertain if there was a 'premeditated conspiracy' to delay bid declaration or any other 'illegal move' was afoot to allow those who have bid as individual entities to team up as a consortium now.

This mail comes days after cash-crunched Jet Airways's CEO Vinay Dube announced that there is 'no clarity or commitment on salaries by any of our stakeholders' as the stakeholders not investing the airline company.

With the chaos and uncertainty over the future of almost 16,000 employees increasing with each passing time after Jet Airways announced its bankruptcy, the emotional letter by company's CEO was heartbreaking for the already stressed employees. These employees had appealed to the Union government to help them get paid their pending salaries so that they can run their households.
