Jet Airways spokesperson while speaking on the matter said, "Would like to reiterate that the reason for cancellations of 2nd Dec flights was due to an unforeseen operational circumstance¬ pilot non-cooperation, as being unduly speculated." The airline further added, "The management is in regular dialogue with pilots and other teams to discuss and resolve on-going issues including disbursement of salaries."
Jet Airways said the passengers of the affected flights were informed via SMS alerts and they have been re-accommodated in other flights or compensated. Some other reports stated that some of the pilots have also written to airline founder and chairman Naresh Goyal stating that they are unwilling to work in this circumstances.
Meanwhile, in a bid to revive itself, the airline has decided to suspend flights to seven Gulf countries from some cities, however, it will not suspend its Gulf operations completely. It is reported that these major changes will come into effect from December 5.
