Chennai, December 5: Floral tributes were paid by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leaders and workers to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on her second death anniversary on Wednesday. Top AIADMK leaders including Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam led the party men in paying tributes to the former AIADMK supremo. Panneerselvam and Palaniswami, who were seen dressed in black shirts, led a silent march from Anna Salai to Marina beach, where the former AIADMK supremo was laid to rest. Jayalalithaa breathed her last at Chennai's Apollo Hospital on December 5, 2016, 75 days after she was hospitalised for several ailments. Fondly known as 'Amma', Jayalalithaa was laid to rest at Chennai’s Marina beach, next to the memorial of her mentor M.G. Ramachandran (MGR). The last rites of the veteran leader were performed by her close aide, Sasikala. Jayalalithaa was accorded a state funeral and a seven-day state mourning was declared in Tamil Nadu.
