Jammu & Kashmir: Truck With Rajasthan Number Plate Shot at by 2 Terrorists in Shopian, Driver Killed

The day when mobile communication was restored in Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists on Monday shot dead a truck driver transporting apples in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The driver was identified as Shrief Khan. The owner of the orchid was also beaten up by the terrorists.

Shopian, October 14: The day when mobile communication was restored in Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists on Monday shot dead a truck driver transporting apples in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The driver was identified as Shrief Khan. According to reports, the truck had a number plate of Rajasthan. 'Internet to be Restored Soon', Says Jammu & Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik.

The owner of the orchid was also beaten up by the terrorists. The incident took place in Shirmal area of the district. One of the terrorists is reported to be a Pakistani. Security forces have launched a search operation to trace the terrorists. More details are still awaited.

Earlier in the day, postpaid mobile services were resumed Jammu and Kashmir administration. The mobile services were shut down after the Centre's decision to scrap special status of Jammu and Kashmir after diluting  provisions of Article 370. The postpaid services were reactivated at 12 pm on October 14. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik also assured that internet services would soon be restored across the state.
