Srinagar, December 22: At least six personnel of the Central Reserved Paramilitary Force (CRPF) sustained injuries after suspected terrorists lobbed grenades at the security forces in South Kashmir's Anantnag. The incident was reported hours after six militants of an Al Qaeda affiliate group were killed in Awantipora region.
The grenade attack was first reported by news agency ANI at around 6:15pm. The miscreants lobbed grenade at a patrolling party in Arwani. The injured security personnel have been admitted at the nearest medical facility, where their condition is reported to be stable. A search operation, meanwhile, has been launched to nab the militants.

Earlier on Saturday, a joint team of CRPF, Army and J&K police launched a crackdown on a terrorist hideout in Jammu & Kashmir's Awantipora. A total of sexi terrorists were killed in the operation, including a deputy of most wanted militant Zakir Musa.
The deceased, all belonging to Musa's Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGuH), have been identified as: Soliha Mohammad Akhoon, Faisal Ahmad Khanday, Nadeem Ahmad Sofi, Rasiq Mir, Rouf Mir and Umar Ramzan — all local residents of South Kashmir.
