Shopian, May 21: Exchange of firing ragged between terrorists and a joint team of security forces in Yarwan area of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place in the forest area of Yarwan. Till the times this report was published, no casualties were reported on both sides. The region has been put under cordon. According to reports, a joint team of Army’s 20 Para, Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched cordon and search operation on Yarwan forests. A police officer said that contact has been established with the hiding terrorists. As per the sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped. On May 18, one terrorist was killed in an encounter in Hathlangoo village of Sopore district. On a tip-off, security forces launched a search operation. During the searching operations, terrorist hiding in a nearby area fired on defence forces. Following this, an exchange of firing broke between forces and terrorists. In the encounter, a terrorist was killed and arms and ammunition were recovered from him.
