Srinagar, February 24: Days after the Indian Armed Forces killed the two militants in Baramulla on Friday, an intense encounter broke out between the security forces and the militants in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday. Though no casualty has been reported as of yet, the gunbattle operation is underway.

Earlier on Friday, the security forces neutralised two terrorists in Baramulla district. Speaking to the media, the J&K police spokesperson said that based on inputs about the presence of militants in Warapora, a Cordon and Search Operation was jointly launched by police and security forces in the area.
Adding more, the official said, "As searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the militants. The security forces retaliated leading to a gunfight."
