Srinagar, February 18: India suspended the bus service from Poonch to Rawalakot in Pakistan on Monday, February 18. However, the suspension on the bus service is in effect for today and whether this suspension will continue will be decided later, said reports. Reports say that the service has been suspended in wake of the encounter that took place on early Monday morning today. After the decision by India, the cross-LoC bus services on the Poonch-Rawalakot road between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has been suspended.

This decision is another step from India to register its protest against Pakistan in terms of diplomacy after it withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status from Pakistan after the attack on Indian CRPF men on Thursday, February 14, 2019. 40 CRPF jawans were martyred and over a dozen seriously injured after a vehicle in CRPF convoy was targeted in a Fidayeen attack on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama. Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for the attack and named a local Pulwama 21-year-old Adil Ahmed Dar as the suicide bomber who executed the attack.
