Jammu & Kashmir: Army Major, Soldier Killed in IED Blast in Naushera
Apart from the two IED blasts today, unprovoked cross-border firing was also reported along the LoC in Poonch district, officials said. At least one Army porter was injured in the ceasefire violation.
Srinagar, January 11: At least two Indian Army personnel were killed on Friday in a blast triggered using an improvised explosive device (IED) in Jammu & Kashmir's Naushera sector. The identities of the deceased were yet to be reported, but they have been confirmed as an Army Major and a soldier. The role of Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) is being suspected behind the fatal assault.
In another similar attack earlier in the day, a junior commissioned officer (JCO) and a soldier were left injured. They were targeted in an IED triggered blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Laam sector of J&K's Rajouri district. Indian Army is Conservative, Can't Allow Homosexuals: General Bipin Rawat.
The soldiers part of border patrolling team have been alerted by the Army. They have been warned against IED blasts, infiltrations and BAT attacks orchestrated by the Pakistan Army.

The Indian forces launched retaliation in equal measure, another official added. The injured porter was rushed to the nearest hospital in Poonch district, where his condition is stated to be stable.
