Jammu & Kashmir: 4 Terrorists Neutralised by Security Forces In Anantnag Encounter

In a major breakthrough for security forces, four terrorists were neutralised in an encounter by security forces in Bijbehara's Arwani in district Anantnag on Thursday.

Anantnag, October 25: In a major breakthrough for security forces, four terrorists were neutralised in an encounter in Bijbehara's Arwani in district Anantnag on Thursday. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition, including three AK-47 were also recovered from the site of the encounter. The gunfight started after the security forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Khar mohalla of Arwani. According to reports, people started pelting stones at the security forces after the encounter started to disrupt the operation. However, the security forces did not suffer any causality during the operation. The forces even used tear gas to disperse the mob. Meanwhile, In another attack on security forces, terrorists fired upon the camp of Indian Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles. However, no casualty has been reported till now.

Earlier in the day, in a separate encounter, two terrorists were killed by the security forces in Keeri area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The joint operation was carried out by the 29 Rashtriya Rifles, special operations group (SOG) of J&K police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The encounter started after the terrorists fired upon the security personnel during a cordon and search operation.
