Jammu & Kashmir: 2 Jaish Terrorists, Suspected to be 'Pulwama Masterminds', Killed in Pinglan Encounter
The encounter in Pinglan, in which Kamran has been reportedly killed, has also claimed the lives of four Indian Army jawans, including a Major-rank officer. The deceased belonged to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles.
Srinagar, February 18: Four days after the fatal terror strike on the CRPF convoy, the Indian Army has gunned down two terrorists affiliated to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Pinglan area of of Pulwama district. The duo who have been neutralised could Jaish commanders Kamran and Ghazi Rashid, who are suspected to be the "masterminds" of the Pulwama terror attack, reports said. Official sources are yet to release the details of the counter-militancy operation.
Rashid, 28, is an Afghan war veteran who was trained by the Pakistan's ISI to carry out fidayeen strikes in India's Jammu & Kashmir, reports said citing Intelligence sources. Jammu & Kashmir: Encounter in Pulwama's Pinglan Area, 4 Indian Army Jawans Martyred.
He reportedly infiltrated into India nearly two months ago, through the porous borders in Kupwara. Kamran, a senior commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was later sent to India with arms and ammunition to carry out the terror strike in Pulwama.
The encounter in Pinglan, in which Kamran and Rashid has been reportedly killed, has also claimed the lives of four Indian Army jawans, including a Major-rank officer. The deceased belonged to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles.
The encounter comes four days after Adil Ahmed Dar, a local militant recruited by the JeM, rammed a car full of 350kg of explosives, into a military convoy, leading to the death of 40 CRPF jawans.
