Jammu, November 20: An Army jawan was martyred in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on Tuesday. Reports inform that nearly four terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in the gunfight. According to a tweet by ANI, the encounter broke out in Shopian's Nadigam village. The operation in currently underway.

In another separate incident, ceasefire violation by Pakistan was reported in Poonch sector. According to a tweet by ANI, three shells landed near Poonch brigade headquarters. In the wake of the ceasefire violation, all schools have been closed in Degwar, Malti and other adjoining areas of Poonch sector. Jammu And Kashmir: Army Foils Infiltration Bid Along LoC in Akhnoor, Pakistani Intruder Gunned Down. 

On Monday, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed in a blast at a border outpost (BOP) along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district.  "A blast has taken place at a BOP in Samba sector. One BSF person has died and few others (were) injured", a BSF officer told PTI.

Earlier this week, two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, one of the terrorists was identified as Mukhtar A Khan. In another separate incident, two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in the last week. According to a tweet by ANI, the terrorists were killed while attempting to infiltrate in Keren sector of Kupwara district.

In the last week, the Jammu & Kashmir police and security forces had apprehended a terrorist of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen at Lassipora-Achan Axis in Pulwama district.
